Hida Viloria is a gender fluid, intersex writer, activist, Chairperson of Organization Intersex International (OII) and Director of OII-USA, Los Angeles.
"Hida Viloria is a gender fluid, intersex writer and Chairperson of Organization Intersex International (OII), and Director of its American affiliate, OII-USA. She has educated extensively about intersex issues as a consultant (International Olympics Committee, United Nations, Human Rights Watch), lecturer, writer (The Advocate, The American Journal of Bioethics, Ms., CNN.com…), television and radio guest (HuffPostLive,Oprah, Aljazeera, “20/20,” BBC…), and in film (Intersexion, One in 2000). She has also educated audiences about genderqueer, as well as intersex, issues starting in 1999’s award-winning documentary, Gendernauts. She has a degree in Gender and Sexuality from U.C. Berkeley, and in 2013, became the first openly intersex person to speak at the United Nations, with fellow “out” pioneers Martina Navratilova and Jason Collins, for Human Rights Day." —
